Pros and Cons of Being a Nurse Practitioner

With the many jobs available in our constantly blooming economy, each and every one of us has got the option to pick where we go in terms of career. If you've had your mind on being a nurse practitioner but don't know the ups and downs of it all, then this article is for you.

Like everything else, the occupation of a nurse practitioner has got two sides; the pros and the cons of it. Starting off with the pros, holding this occupation gives you the satisfaction of knowing that the reason you wake up every day helps those who are sick and in need are getting better with your help. It is a noble and gives you the talent of bringing help, aid and care to those who really need it.

In addition to that, depending on area of specialty and the years of experience, a nurse practitioner can earn between 72,000 to 0,000 annually. Also, they would be given the benefits of lower cost medical and dental privileges and for some, even zero cost. Nothing gets better than having your financials covered for medical expenses. Besides that, the healthcare industry is one that is constantly growing, and unlike a doctor's assistant, nurse practitioners are free to open up their own practices under certain guidelines. This gives them the chance to run their own sectors, be their own boss and make twice as much in terms of income.

Pros and Cons of Being a Nurse Practitioner

Of course it's not all about the perks as there are downfalls as well. considering the amount one gets paid, something it may not be enough seeing how work can get pretty tiring on some days. Working hours pretty much resemble ones of a doctor and could call for working double shifts as well. This would mean being on your feet twice as long, seeing to patients and not having a chance to sit down.

In addition to that, since nurse practitioners work on a shift schedule, night duties may be called for and you would need to make alterations to your daily routines and stay awake during the night to be at work. Aside from that, not all patients are sweet natured and polite as we would want them to be. There would be a handful of difficult patients who may give you a hard time and not appreciate your efforts.

What is Success? The Definition, Interpretation, and Advice on How to Achieve Success

Do you want to be successful? Do you even know what that means? Success today is measured by many individual standards, and never by any one uniformed standard. Many times an individual doesn't even know what success looks like until that individual achieves some level of success. And even then the measure of success for Johnny might be a million dollars and a house in the Hampton's; where as the measure of success for Jimmy is a wife, two kids, a dog named Scruffy, and a house in a cul-de-sac. So who is to tell you or I just what success is; and for that matter how to achieve success?

Well, first let's look at the definition of success, and then we will go on from there. The Encarta Dictionary: English (North American Version) explains success as follows:

Success - suc-cess (noun) The achievement of intention; the achievement of something
planned or attempted.

What is Success? The Definition, Interpretation, and Advice on How to Achieve Success

By that definition anything that we set out to do and accomplish is success. So if I set out to go and pick up the trash in my yard and I accomplish that task; I by definition am successful, right! Perhaps by definition, yes; but by modern standards and interpretations; I would not be considered a successful man for performing such a menial task.

The modern day, and Americanized version of the definition of success (by interpretation) usually means: The achievement of something not easily achieved. By our modern day standard I may not be considered successful unless I have gained wealth, power, or have achieved notoriety and fame. These are some of the factors by which we gage success.

I would submit that a true concise definition of success could never be formulated. Why? Because everyone seems to have their own version of the definition, as well they should. I may not consider myself successful unless I have a yacht, a house on the lake, a million dollars and a riding lawn mower. Your definition of success might be more expansive or even simpler. You may not consider yourself a success unless you have a house in the suburbs, a working car, a good job, and a loving family.

Whatever your personal definition of success; there is usually one common denominator. Happiness! What creates happiness for you? I would suggest that if you are truly happy in life, then you are successful. Without happiness you can't have success.

So how do you achieve success? You start by figuring out exactly what makes you happy. Figure out what you want in life; what will make this life a fabulous life for you. Then you go get it. That's it! You figure out a way to get it, and you do.

In this great country, everyone has an equal shot at achieving success. As long as you are willing to do what it takes to achieve success; you have the opportunity to do so. Success is achieved by the strong in mind.

So, here's to your success; I wish you the best!

A pharmacist is an individual who is trained in the dispensing of medications to patients. They are trained the knowledge of medicines, compounds and ingredients, their effects in the body and interactions with other medicines. Pharmacies keep confidential computerized records of patients' drug therapies to prevent harmful drug interactions when dispensing new or additional medications. Pharmacists are responsible for the accuracy of every prescription that is filled, sometimes verifying with the prescribing doctor, they will also manage Pharmacy technicians and pharmacy aides to assist them in the dispensing process. The pharmacist will often delegate prescription-filling and administrative tasks and supervise their completion. Pharmacists also frequently oversee pharmacy students serving as interns.

Career options

The first pharmacies were retail shops where medicines and tonics were sold for treatment of ailments and illnesses. These pharmacists mixed compounds and ingredients according to the patients needs. Pharmacists then and today have the knowledge about medicines, what they can cure or ease, and their effects when taken with other medicines or foods. Pharmacists in retail pharmacies dispense medications, counsel patients on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications, and advise physicians about patients' medication therapy. They can counsel patients about common health topics such as diet, exercise, and stress reduction. As drugstores also carry other medical related supplies, the pharmacist is there as a healthcare professional able to advice on the purchase and use of medical equipment such as crutches and braces.

Insurance and benefits companies also require pharmacists to monitor prescriptions and treatments for reimbursement purposes. Pharmacists are also responsible for creating medicinal regimens and assist in establishing process and procedures for review and approvals for treatments.

*Pharmaceutical
Pharmacists and other related scientists are the founders of most of the modern pharmaceutical companies in the world. As the types of mixtures increased and other medicines were found to be effective against certain illnesses and ailments, pharmacists started companies to manufacture medicines that can be sold to a wider number of persons with the same ailment. Over time these companies became the first pharmaceuticals. Pharmacists are employed today in the pharmaceutical industry not only for research and development but for education of the consumers' of the medicines such as retail pharmacy chains and insurance companies, and doctors.

Top HR Interview Question - "Tell Me About Yourself" Answered

Do you know why this question is asked so often in most job interviews? This question is actually an ice-breaker. Asking this question starts the conversion. So you should better be ready with an answer. This question gives the interviewer a chance to know about the interviewee. Once you start talking about yourself, interviewer starts preparing his/her next question. So there are high chances that the next question that would be fired on you will be based on the answer of this question. As the answer for this will be based on you, you think and prepare it before the interview.

While preparing for the answer consider including following points.

1. You:

Top HR Interview Question - "Tell Me About Yourself" Answered

Tell them your name and which place you are from. Suppose you are "Mike Creamer", then do not start with "Myself Mike Creamer"; start with "I am Mike Creamer". This is a very common mistake. Not acceptable in interviews especially in call center jobs.

You may talk about your family (cover up in short); you may talk about your how you came to the city, etc.

2. Your education:

Tell them about your education i.e. graduation/post-graduation. If you are a fresher then tell them the grades you got. If you have done something different than others then tell them. It surely adds a value!

3. Your experience:

Talk about your whole experience. Start from early years and gradually come to recent years. If you have a long experience then you must not be doing same thing all years. Then exactly what you were doing? This is what your interviewer wants to listen. If you are a fresher then talk about your projects.

4. Your experience regarding to the post you has applied for:

This is of most interest to your interviewer. You may be having lot of experience but how much experience you have regarding current job post is very important. If you do not have it then you can talk about some related experience. Or if you do not have related experience too then say it clearly. Buy along with it give them confidence that you can do it and you have genuine interest to do it.

Fresh candidates who do not have any kind of experience, you should show some positive attitude and exhibit willingness to learn and do new things. Be ready to do new things. Don't worry that you will make mistakes. Fresher candidates are expected to do mistakes and your employers are well aware of it so you don't have any reason to be afraid. Believe me no one will give you more work than you can handle.

5. Do not describe your salary or pay scale at this point of time (unless explicitly asked).

6. Avoid giving unnecessary details. Value your interviewer's time.

7. The idle answer should not last more than 1 minute.

Good luck.
